Partnering with Courts and Law Enforcement

Supporting safer communities through trauma-informed education and prison preparation.

The Intake Initiative works alongside courts, correctional facilities, and law enforcement agencies to provide trauma-informed curriculum that helps individuals prepare for incarceration and build successful pathways to reentry. By reducing risks such as gang recruitment, disciplinary infractions, and recidivism, we strengthen both participants and the communities they return to.

How We Help

  • Structured Curriculum: Three guides designed to prepare individuals and families for incarceration and reentry.
  • Behavioral Impact: Participants learn coping strategies that reduce infractions and improve institutional safety.
  • Family Support: Resources for families to stay connected and resilient during incarceration.
  • Community Outcomes: Lower recidivism rates, safer neighborhoods, and stronger family bonds.

Why Partner With Us

  • Evidence-Based Approach: Trauma-informed methods proven to improve participant outcomes.
  • Reduced Strain on Systems: Fewer disciplinary issues, reduced recruitment by Security Threat Groups, and smoother transitions for correctional staff.
  • Collaborative Solutions: We work with attorneys, probation officers, and community partners to ensure continuity of care.
